Are you thirsty?

I am just curious why it seems so hard to thirst for wisdom the way scripture tells us to? Is it because we think we know better? Is it that it just seems hard? Is it because we can't focus long enough to ask and listen to what God wants to say? Or maybe we just don't believe that he will answer or atleast answer us the way we want to?
I just think that it is imperative that we understand that the decisions that we make today will shape who we become tommorow. It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we exist in a vaccum and that what we do now is somehow disconnected to who we are becoming. But that is simply a deception that tricks us into scars and pains that God never intended for us to have to deal with.
At 2:42 we have been talking about HEALTHY FRIENDSHIPS and the importance of using wisdom in choosing the people that we allow to influence our lives, because we believe: Friendships determine the quality and direction of our lives.
WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS!

We are all thirsty for God's wisdom, but somehow it's usually the last thing we ask for. We try to quench the thirst our way, using our own minds, our plans etc until none of that works. Then finally, many times after tears & heartache, we ask God what we should do, we ask God to give us the wisdom to handle a situation, and we ask God to help us. You're right Walt, if the first thing we do is to ask God for the wisdom he desires to give us, we could avoid alot of heartache. His word(Bible) is full of wisdom for each of our lives- we just have to read it & then pray - He will give us the desires of our heart.

Ah this is some good stuff Walt.

I think that alotta people don't really realize the importance that wisdom holds and the role that it plays in everyday life- which is why no one persues it.

But wisdom is used every day, whether it's a handful of it or a lack of it.
Every single decision you make is lived out based your desires, and/or your wisdom.
And it's usually one or the other that takes the role in deciding what will happen.

I'm liking the blogs Walt, keep this updated. I think a link on the ODSM myspace would be nice too, in the about me section. That way it would be a bit easier, rather than goin on the church website from ur myspace, then the blog.
